TONS OF COLOR!

We are going to design borders and illustrations, small and large, using multiple painting techniques in this class chock full of color and ideas.

Starting with some exercises to explore watercolor, we will experiment with a vibrant autumn palette. We will then learn some wedge brush techniques to produce beautiful leaves in all shapes and sizes, to be used as borders, or stand alone illustrations.

​

This will be followed by some sketching techniques, using a fine-liner marker. This technique is a favorite to achieve a light, open and gestural look to sunflowers, coneflowers, and small daisies. The use of templates will help those who don’t have too much sketching experience, and I promise you will love using this technique in your work.

or even more inspiration, we will add some designs for darker backgrounds, using a light pigment and some mica paints.
