Engrossers Versal Capitals
With Michael Kecseg
Starting date: 2 January 2027
Fees: HK$ 1,170 or US$ 150
Workshop Description
Historically, versal capitals marked the beginnings of chapters, paragraphs, and verses. In this class, we will explore how engrossers adapted these capitals for certificates, resolutions, and testimonials. Step by step, you will learn to draw and paint both traditional and boxed versal capitals. We will then consider how to use these techniques in traditional pieces or as decorative elements in contemporary work. You will also explore lettering styles that complement versal capitals and design a practical or personal piece using what you have learned.
