Thomas Hoyer has a MA in graphic design and calligraphy. As a student he worked for the Calligraphy Department of the German government. For more than 25 years now he works as a freelance calligrapher and type designer. Influenced by the thoughts of Hans-Joachim Burgert it is his conviction that every letter bases on a definition only with infinite possibilities of shape. Thomas has 30 years of teaching experience and taught from Moscow to Melbourne. Almost every year sample(s) of his work are selected for the Annual issue of the LAR. He is mainly known for his ruling pen mastership.
