When Ross F. George developed his Stunt Roman letters style in the 1920s, he had in mind the needs of show card writers: punchy, flashy, easy-to-learn letters.  A hundred years later, calligraphers and lettering artists still need (and love) punchy, flashy, and easy-to-learn letters!
 

Our first day of class will be dedicated to learning the essential, monoline Foundational minuscules and the proper spacing between letters.  On our second day, we will transform the basic forms of Foundational minuscules into George's Stunt Roman.  Our third and final day will be spent adding serifs to our letters, adjusting and manipulating letters to fit together like puzzle pieces, and building up the letters to add weight, texture, and visual interest.
