Pressurized Italic

Workshop Description

Do you want to spice up your Italic and make it dance? Both subtle and demanding, the skill of pressurizing can create forms that are suffused with greater energy. That skill of pressure and release (sound familiar to pointed pen people?) Can transform a disciplined Italic into a more dynamic set of letterforms with a fresh, contemporary feel. We will “spring and release” first through the lower case forms and then “swash and flourish” our way through the caps. We will explore all this with several different size nibs and complete a variety of pieces.
