Workshop Description
Italic calligraphy, sometimes called Chancery Cursive, is a beautiful, legible script, often the first style of calligraphy students learn. Originating in the late 15th century, it is the handwriting of the Renaissance. This detailed step-by-step approach covers the use of the broad-edged pen, basic strokes, minuscule (lower-case) letters, and the principles of spacing. This class is recommended for students unfamiliar with the broad-edged pen as well as those who are looking for a detailed review of this delightful alphabet. * This workshop is open to all students and recording will be available after class for 30 days via Zoom *
