Workshop Description

There are countless gothic scripts that flourished during the homonymous period between the 13th and 15th centuries. Bastards form a large subfamily within the gothics and have many forms. In this course, we will study a French gothic bastarda script of the XVth century from a Parisian manuscript of the Roman de la rose. In addition to the different shapes of majuscules and minuscules, we will study ligatures and abbreviations. Class 01 : study of the minuscules shapes and rhythm of the script Class 02 : study of the majuscules, abbreviations & ligatures
