Workshop Description
This course of Celtic Knots is based upon the teachings of the late Gwen Weaver. Bill was fortunate to have met Gwen and learn not only Weaver Writing but an easy way to make Celtic Knots. Gwen did not enjoy flying and that was an issue since she was traveling around the country teaching. To keep her mind off flying she would have a graph table (or spiral notebook) which she would keep herself business designing Celtic Knots. When she was teaching here in Albuquerque, New Mexico she showed Bill her method and have used it ever since. During this course student will learn a very simple design of creating an simple Foundational pattern, leading into a Double Foundational with corner and progressing to a King Solomon Knot. From those simple knots student also can expand it to more complex designs and patterns. Then shading the design of the weaving pattern with colored pencil (or with a lead pencil itself), the Knots will just jump off the page. Student will be working on grid graph paper and if time permits trying a pattern on good paper.
