Radiant Darks: Mastering the Midnight Garden
With Heather Held
Starting date: 16 January 2027
Fees: HK$ 780 or US$ 100
Workshop Description
There is a new adventure and a Magic Method waiting for you as we perfect our Radiant Darks in the Midnight Garden. Learn to master the techniques of working on dark and twilight toned papers through free flowing border designs. The inspiration for the techniques is gleaned from a careful study of The Black Hours, Persian Floral Manuscripts, Evelyn De Morgan, Cloisonne Ornament and Lacquer Designs. A mixed media “Magic Method” for the most radiant results on simple cardstock will be explored in this class. The designs are created with Bleed Proof White, Coloured Pencil, Watercolours, Metallics and
Gold Leaf. The possibilities are truly endless once you know how to achieve these luminous effects. This class is designed to help you avoid the pitfalls and build confidence in your hand drawn border designs. You will transform your understanding of how to achieve Radiant Darks in this beautiful class. All skill levels and experience are welcome!
