Lettering in pencil is something I have always enjoyed. Most of the time we scribble and brainstorm using a pencil, letting our creativity flow before having it inked in, so why not turn those outlines directly into a final piece and embrace the imperfections and the rawness that graphite creates.

Having a basic knowledge in pointed pen calligraphy (engrossers script/ copperplate/ modern calligraphy) or brush calligraphy will be useful. However it is not necessary, and beginners are definitely welcome to join, as I will be breaking down each step from warming up with lettering drills, practicing the basic strokes, and then working through the lowercase and uppercase. We will finish off with flourishing and letter variations so that you can create greeting cards to send off to your loved ones this coming holiday season.
