In this course we will focus the attention only on the elegant shapes of the Italic Capital Letter.

I will show you my personal way of seeing, transform and making them more beautiful and attractive in your work.

In detail:

• A quick but intense review of the classic forms of Italic capital letters and some historical interpretations: it is important to have a clear understanding of the shapes before transforming them.

• Formal and stylistic variations through automatic pen manipulation, strong contrasts, gestures and stroke’s expressiveness quality.

• more variations inspired by the letters of the Latvian calligrapher Villu Toots.

• decorative elements and color techniques applicable to letters.

• letters compositions and colors technics to create backgrounds and patterns for your calligraphic works.

 

At the end of the course we will use all the worksheets to compose a small object booklet that will summarize the whole path done together. This workshop is open to everybody.
