This experimental workshop is inspired by watercolors and calligraphy.

We will paint details from nature in a free, intuitive way, exploring the possibilities of paper, color, brushes, and a variety of drawing tools. Together, we will discover how pigments behave differently depending on the materials and techniques we choose.

We will also explore light and shadow within our color palette, learning to create depth, atmosphere, and subtle contrasts. Towards the end, different tools and colored pencils will help us emphasize details and add a final touch of precision and character.

Finally, we will bring all of our work together in a small artist’s book.

The class will be recorded, so you can take your time with the cutting, folding, and binding—and return to the results whenever you need.
