Workshop Description

Journaling is an exploration of the intersection of memory keeping, lettering styles, color theory, line drawing, calligraphy, penmanship, layout and troubleshooting. Journaling isn't a linear equation with simple outputs and predictable outcomes, but don't let that keep you from jumping in with both feet! In this virtual class, Melissa Esplin will walk you through the tools needed for successful journaling in your own style. You'll gain insight into the tools and techniques used for effortless layouts, and how to embrace and correct mistakes.

Class objectives:

* Gain confidence in penmanship

* Build calligraphy theory for developing style

* Understand the tools and how to manipulate them

* Develop confidence in layouts

* Learn color theory for cohesion

* Troubleshoot workarounds for mistakes
