Workshop Description
Italic is one of the most versatile styles. It lends itself to many variations that give the letters a more contemporary look with different characteristics.
In this workshop student will focus on the creation of capital letters, looking for new forms from the historical ones and taking inspiration from other styles and examples.
Lesson 1
Focus on plain capitals. Starting from the basic shapes and explore new strokes, from manipulation to pressure-and-release of the nib.
Lesson 2
Apply the new techniques, from plain capitals to swash capitals.
Lesson 3
Discover new forms taking inspiration from historical examples and typographic shapes.
Lesson 4
How to create a composition.
