Workshop Description
This course plan covers the history, design, and practical techniques of Ottoman illumination art, with a specific focus on the Åžah Kulu and saz yolu styles.

Åžah Kulu: A renowned Ottoman court artist, particularly influential in the 16th century. He was a master of Saz-style decoration and worked in the court of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.
​
Saz Yolu (Saz Style): A fluid, dynamic decorative style featuring curved leaves, lotus flowers, composite blossoms, and stylized dragons, birds or mythical creatures. It was inspired by Central Asian influences but became a signature element of Ottoman design.
