Workshop Description
The Irish Gospels of Lindisfarne were entirely created (text and decoration) at the end of the 7th century by the monk Eadfrith who became bishop in 698. It has many decorated pages and many ornate capitals.

This course will be dedicated to the study of these capitals as well as associated colors, decorations (dots, spirals, animal heads...) and layouts.

Lesson 1
Keltic knots, a construction method How to create simple knots to be used as borders or as parts of the initials

Lesson 2
Simple initials How to draw the initial from the Gospels and how to arrange them to create nice layouts
​
Lesson 3
Decoration and ornaments How to draw spirals to end the initials strokes or fill a white space How to surround our text with dots borders
