This class is for beginner or advanced students.  The main tool that will be used is a pointed pen (with an oblique or straight holder).  The class is utilizing basic flourishing techniques to construct a star pattern, or I like to refer to them as a “Flourished Starburst”.  Using a drawing compass will allow us to draw circles at specific diameters and to allow us to set boundaries for drawing the starburst patterns.  It uses basic flourishing techniques and repeats those patterns as we design the starburst.  This class allows the student to truly become familiar with the pointed pen as we design our starburst.

We will be utilizing white paper with just a few ink colors designing the starburst.  As a final exercise we can use dark paper, I like black, with white ink (Dr. Martin Bleed Proof Ink).  This will make your starburst jump off the paper when you add an accent of color to it.
