Copperplate, also known as English Roundhand, is the elegant, ornate script of the 18th century writing masters. It is a perennial favourite with calligraphers and designers and is the basis of many popular typefaces.
In this detailed introduction to Copperplate, students learn to use the flexible pointed pen and follow a step-by-step sequence in order to develop a thorough understanding of the letterforms that comprise this graceful form of calligraphy. This recording concentrates on the minuscule (lower-case) alphabet. Included in the recording are explanation and demonstration of the following:
