Workshop Description

Lesson 1

This workshop is an introduction to a compass with ruling pen attachment or compass with a universal pen attachment. These tools make inked or gilded circles. A design has been provided or student can create a monogram of their own from the initial letters provided in handouts. Student will apply size to the design and Rosalee will demonstrate the gilding process. Homework is to complete the sizing and gilding and be ready to paint.

 

Lesson 2

The gilding process is completed so the painting begins. Rosalee will talk about and paint the leaf design of the inner circle and talk about other designs which could be used.

 

Lesson 3

The workshop will complete the design with adding the filigree surrounding the circle, and add finishing touches. 

Note to Students

  • This is a live online workshop via Zoom (please make sure you have a Zoom account to access the workshop)

  • All live sessions will be recorded and available for 60 days following the final class.

  • All recordings expires on Friday, 26 January, 2024 at 12:00 pm Hong Kong Standard Time.

  • Student can submit homework to the discussion corner for Rosalee to critique.
